The creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s has released a free game as an apology for the delay of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach [via Bloody Disgusting].
The game’s creator, Scott Cawthon, made an apology on the FNAF Reddit page, where he shared his regrets about the game’s delay:
“Hey everyone, so here is your big Security Breach news for the week.
As you all know, Security Breach was originally planned to come out at the end of 2020, but as we kept working on it and kept adding to it, it just kept getting bigger and bigger and needed more time to finish. And now, again, I’ve made the decision to put more time and money into it to make sure it’s finished properly, and that means a late 2021 release instead of an early 2021 release like I had originally wanted. It will be worth it!”
Cawthon then surprised fans by revealing a free game as a gesture of goodwill for making fans wait on Security Breach:
“I know it’s disappointing, but I didn’t want you all to walk away empty-handed so I made something for the community: https://gamejolt.com/games/furysrage/611180”
The game itself is a Streets of Rage style beat ‘em’ up based on characters from the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I expected to see in 2021 was a Five Nights at Freddy’s sidescroller featuring furry-esque animatronic mascots.
There are four playable characters: Freddy, Monty, Roxanne and Chica, who all feature with Streets of Rage-inspired outfits and a sweet hairdo. Play it now!
Hopefully, Security Breach: Fury’s Rage will be enough to tide FNAF fans over while they wait on the latest entry to the series.
