Computex 2021 onsite events canceled

TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) has decided to cancel the physical Computex 2021 expo.

Despite Council’s best efforts to keep Computex 2021 alive, a global pandemic of COVID-19 would still have stopped many exhibitors and media from attending the event. Therefore it would make no sense to still insist on physical presence during onsite events.

This means that Computex 2021 will be a lot like Computex 2020, except Taitra did not completely cancel the event (yet). Computex 2021 is still scheduled to begin on May 31st. The expo will likely fully transform into Computex Virtual as announced back in February.

The main topics for the 2021 expo are 5G, AI & IoT, Edge Computing, High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cyber Security, Gaming, and Innovations & Startups. This popular yearly event was often used by major PC hardware manufacturers for important consumer product announcements.

COMPUTEX Cancelled Onsite Exhibition in 2021

With another wave of coronavirus pandemic across the world, it doesn’t look like we are close to the end. The majority of the show’s stakeholders, including international exhibitors, visitors, and media, cannot join the show due to border control. Therefore, the organizers of COMPUTEX have decided to cancel the onsite exhibition this year.
