AMD to present at CES 2021
The next year’s Consumer Electronics Show will be different. A global pandemic affected all popular computer and gaming expos around the world, which were either canceled or delayed. The Consumer Technology Association announced earlier this year that the CES 2021 will go all-digital, meaning no public events with an audience will be held.
Today AMD announced that its CEO and Present Dr. Lisa Su will host a keynote at next year’s event. The keynote takes place on January 12 and it will last an hour. It is very likely that the event will be prerecorded as there is no information on a live stream.
AMD is expected to unveil its Ryzen 5000 mobile processors codenamed Cezanne. At CES 2020 AMD announced its Ryzen 4000 Renoir series. The company is also planning to launch Navi 22 GPU for Radeon RX 6700 series. The CES 2021 could be a perfect opportunity for the announcement of both products. AMD might also talk about the Threadripper 5000 series based on Zen3 architecture.
The company could also reveal its roadmap for AM4 socket to AM5 transition. Both Intel and AMD are expected to begin adopting the new DDR5 memory standard on their consumer desktop platforms, which will require brand new processors.
