A report from the website Giant Freakin Robot [via WGTC] claims that unnamed sources have informed them that the iconic FromSoftware title is getting its very own movie.

The Demon’s Souls movie is said to be a live-action adaptation and despite not sharing the identity of their source (for obvious reasons), the apparent source is said to be “trusted” by the website.

In terms of alleged plot details, the rumoured Demon’s Souls movie is said to tell the tale of a kingdom that has been overrun by demons, thanks to a king that awakened an ancient entity known as “The Old One”.

That’s pretty much all we’re given, and we have no information as to who might star in the Demon’s Souls movie.

However, seeing as the playable character in the game is created by the player, this could leave any potential role wide open as to who might star.

Demon’s Souls is also a Sony-owned property, which is probably why the movie is rumoured to be based upon Demon’s Souls rather than Dark Souls (which is published by Bandai Namco).

We must also state these reports are unconfirmed rumours, so we must take them with a pinch of salt. It’s also worth nothing that the claims are pretty dubious, with no sources named.

Sony seems to be on a roll with its licenses being turned into movies. The next to arrive is the Uncharted movie starring Tom Holland.

If this Demon’s Souls film is made, it has all the potential to be great. I hope one day that Sony will make a movie adaptation of God of War!
