The apparent tease comes courtesy of a Twitter exchange between legendary skater Tony Hawk, the Crash Bandicoot Twitter page, and Nintendo of America.
The Twitter exchange is the result of the recent announcement that Activision’s Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on March 12th.
Earlier this week this news prompted Tony Hawk to tweet the Crash Bandicoot Twitter page saying: “Just heard #Crash 4 is coming to new platforms and I’m jealous. Hey, @CrashBandicoot can you hook @TonyHawkTheGame up?”
In a follow-up tweet, Tony Hawk even attempted to bribe Crash Bandicoot with a customised skateboard that would be suitable for his big feet!
In response to the tweets, Nintendo and Activision’s official Twitter pages replied, indicating that something may be in motion.
“Who! Who’s dis? JK let me see what I can do. @Activision, any help?” teased the Crash page.
The Crash Bandicoot tweet then got a response from Nintendo of America saying: “C’mon Crash make it happen for @TonyHawkTheGame!”
Then Activision, who is the publisher of both the Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, simply replied with the shifty eyes emoji.
In my humble opinion, this Twitter conversation looks like a well-structured social media exchange and is very likely a tease for an announcement that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 will be coming to additional platforms.
When you consider that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, CTR Nitro-Fuelled and Crash Bandicoot 4 are multi-platform titles, the latter of which was recently announced for new-gen consoles and Switch, it’s very likely that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 will also follow that trend.
Personally, I not only love the idea of potentially playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2 on PS5 but also on the Nintendo Switch.
