Outer Wilds is a game fueled by imagination. This ominous space epic takes players to the far corners of a universe on the brink of doom. Now, three years after its release, Nintendo Switch players will get to experience Outer Wilds in all its splendour.

Taking place within an endless time loop, players are tasked with solving the universe’s mysterious circumstances. From strange ruins on derelict planets to monstrous creatures inhabiting the dark, Outer Wilds is both an unforgettable adventure and an astronaut’s worst nightmare.

One of the most fascinating things about Outer Wilds is that its environments evolve over time. Like the changing tides on our own planet, the Outer Wilds’ locations can be drastically altered. Underground cities can find themselves swallowed by sand or rapidly decaying planetoids. Time matters in Outer Wilds, so you’ll want to make sure you observe your surroundings carefully.

Not only did Outer Wilds win a BAFTA for Best Game Design in 2020, but was also Game of the Year 2019 for various outlets.

Mobius Digital was founded by none other than Masi Oka, star of hit TV shows like Heroes and Miami 5-0. Oka is also known for the monster movie blockbuster, The Meg. It’s not every day that you see an actor become the head of an award-winning studio, but here we are.

Outer Wilds is set to release in summer 2021 on Nintendo Switch. Right now, it can also be played on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. With so many ways to experience Outer Wilds, it’s hard to think of a reason not to give it a try.

If you don’t fancy waiting (or paying), you can also play it via Xbox Game Pass. Again, there’s no excuses.

Taking the game on the go will be a blessing for existing fans of the game. New gamers are also sure to enjoy the experience! Will you be picking up Outer Wilds when it comes to Nintendo Switch?
